MUSIC
Hi, my name is David Tucker. I was born in Fort Worth Texas and grew up in the mountains of Western North Carolina. I attended The Savannah College of Art and Design on a portfolio scholarship. I received my BFA in Sequential Illustration in 2003. I also have an Associate Degree in Commercial Art and Advertising Design from SCC.
I really have to be honest here and say that comic book illustrators (Sequential Artists) are very inspired by anything and everything especially strong female characters. That is why you will see a lot of surreal character driven photography in my gallery. Most of my inspirations come from film, animation, anime, comics and photography.
I consider myself a Multi-Media Artist. If you are interested in logo design, traditional illustration, digital illustration, 3D animation, photography or painting I'm your man.
I use my illustration and design skill mostly in editing the backgrounds in my photography by adding effects in Photoshop. I will sometimes touch up my work but most of the touch ups are in adding texture, color, and atmosphere to my work. I pride myself in adding a little something unique in just about every shot.
I will honestly tell you I am not the most technically savvy photographer. I come from a drawing and illustration background so I just go with the flow. I don't always follow rules and standards and I constantly get asked why some of my models don't smile. Well, take a hard look at a comic book or a film with strong females. I actually think it's cute when girls look mad. I still love to capture smile's but I find it best to let the models do what they feel.
A lot of my work has some type of theme and some of those themes like my Samurai works are violent. So those with a weak stomach may not like some of my pictures. I honestly try to keep my work tasteful, but some of the work might be inappropriate for some viewers. I have edited a few things for this site.
Over all I hope everyone enjoys my work! I look forward to doing business with you!
Please feel free to contact me!
Respectfully,
David Tucker
